Same project "Huaman Environment", 6 days' deadline, and a "too good to be true" rate--that's when I became alert.

I have also received this exact email from this address. If it looks scammy, smells scammy and feels scammy, it's most likely a scam. In my case, this Argentina-based company wanted me to translate a Nigerian document into Galician. I'm all for international collaboration, but the huge disparity and specificity did raise plenty of alarms. I asked some colleagues about it and they referred me to this post, so thank you for sharing your experience.

I think the saddest part is getting a decent rate for the job was one of the most suspicious parts of this. Oh, well! ▲ Collapse | | | Yunsheng Zhang Kina Local time: 21:53 Member (2024) English to Chinese + ...
Thank you Luana for alerting.
I received the exactly same message from the same person with same details.
Too good to be true.
The email was not filtered into the junk box. So I felt it was true at the first moment.

Received the exact same request from this address to translate the same document into Dutch. It seemed odd that they were willing to pay so much while not asking me a single thing about my experience or expertise on the subject of the text, so I googled the email address and found this thread. Thanks!!!
I became of of their prey, I completed the translation work of whole 32 pages, and when I asked about the payment they told me contact the cashier with the following message :

"""""Sorry recently, we have encountered several issues with our PayPal payments being declined by our bank and card issuers. This is due to overuse and privacy protection measures. and when I check the link of the payment option bank , I found that website too is a scam. What they do is ask for upfront payment to withdraw the money and never pay. So its all a scam , currently the website by the domain alfagramaediciones.com is also closed. ▲ Collapse | | | Domain blocked. Thanks for reporting! | Mar 25 |

I translated a 22 page paper at a great rate, I couldn't really believe it but I did it in the off chance it was real, and I investigated the company and the email beforehand and it all seemed okay, except for the actual address it was sent from ([email protected]).
They even had me sign an NDA, negotiated with me, it was strangely faulty in a way that is authentic if that makes sense.
I got the same email word for word about the attention to detail and stuff that was sent to a different person in this thread, and afterwards asked to message [email protected] to get the payment.
The strangest part is he asked for a project code, I copy pasted the document ID thinking it was, and he said no it isnt please ask for the project code from the original company... I have no idea why a scam would even bother to do something like this?
Any way then it was the same thing we cant pay via Paypal go to https://platinumpivotbnk.online and register and at that point I googled it and found this thread.
They are such scumbags, who scams translators? do they think we have money? haha.
Never do a big project without upfront payment, never EVER send money to receive money from a client, Anytime a client asks you to email their accountant be very cautious.
Free Palestine while I am here.
