Hello

This is proving quite hard partly due to a number of possibilities being used already elsewhere to mean something else.
I've therefore chosen "rotation" time, partly because "rotation" is not a word that I can see already in the TM, partly 'cos it's not completely unclear as to what it means

I just wanted to add that in Stockholm local public transport (possibly not the pendeltåg/commuter trains, which I think use mainline railway terminology more), a round trip is referred to as a "varv" and "omlopp" refers to the entire length of a shift, from start to finish. For example, when I worked on the Blue Line of the Stockholm metro, I might say, "Jag har tre raka varv på tian, jag ser inte solen alls!" ("I have three round trips in a row on line 10 [Kungsträdgården-Hjulsta, entirely underground], I won't see the sun at all!")

Thanks everyone for your help and Tim's confirmation of what it is makes me feel better. I have still not decided yet what to use but "turnaround time" does not work as that is already used for the "turnaround time" of trains at turning platforms. And as someone said it's more than the "round TRIP time"
At present, I have "rotation time" but I may change it. I'll let you know soon.

I don't have a good translation to offer, but I have worked as a metro driver in Stockholm.

The extra activities can include arriving at work, picking up timetable and tools, etc. before a shift; preparing a train for service before a shift (this usually isn't included, but occasionally is); traveling between locations during a shift (not operating the train, just riding); and returning items (timetable, tools) after a shift. This may not be an exhaustive list; it's just the things I can think of right now.
