Swedish term or phrase: omloppstid
Hello

I've already had some help and so I know that in the context I have (employment, working hours), ***omloppstid*** is:

"the worked time plus any dead time between different parts of the worked time."

Albeit I'm not sure what dead time this might be for a Stockholm Metro train driver

Maybe getting into uniform, picking up their train planning etc.

But what do we call this "extra time" in English please?

Thanks

service time

Explanation:
Maybe OK for BrE - rather than US AmE or OzE - train-driving consumption.

Otherwise, I can't recall from my own UK export clerking or law timesheet days any option to show or 'plug' idle time into the roster.

Example sentence(s):
  • IATE: sv omloppstid COM en turnaround time COM turn-about time COM reversal time COM turn-around time
  • Clear view on service time Through the Service Time Manager application, planners receive detailed real-time information about the service times (driving, *waiting* and working) of drivers.

disagree  Tim Kynerd: I would interpret "round trip time" as the time taken to make a single round trip. A typical shift on the Stockholm Metro lasts longer than that.

turnaround time

Explanation:
I just think that turnaround time is more versatile than the two proposals you have received, even though neither of them is wrong.
