Portuguese term or phrase: fita cólica
From a medical exam (from Portugal).. just not sure of the translation for the "fita" here..

(FIE is the Left Iliac Fossa [LIF])

Another example of the term I found online is:

colic/colonic tape

Explanation:

From my understanding, after researching three sources, obstipation may create a fecal tape literally, and that's my interpretation of "fita cólica".

In this document that I'm referencing below, you will find a picture of the so-called "fita cólica".

NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART: Please be warned that the image is graphic and looks gross. Also, you will need to download the PDF since it's not viewable on the browser.

This article in English talks about a 70-year-old patient who was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Besides a tumor in the right colon, she presented "with constipation, changes in bowel habits and fecal bleeding. The article mentions "colonic tape" in this segment:

"A cross-section of the peripheral truncation was performed on the colonic tape at the point where the ileocolonic anastomosis would be later created. "

This section describes a colonoscopy that was performed on the patient. Please note the use of "colic tape".

"A hole was then applied to the colic tape at the lower third of the sigmoid (Fig. (Fig.2).2). Again, a 10 mm laparoscopic port was inserted and the laparoscopic camera was used to inspect the bowel lumen up to the splenic flexure. After the endoscopic inspection of the bowel has been completed, the laparoscopic ports were withdrawn (Fig. (Fig.3).3). The holes were converged with seromuscular stitches of the sigmoid and omentumplasty. A stapled side to side anastomosis was hen performed between terminal ileum and colon."

This is the best I could come up with. Not many sources are available on the topic of colic/colonic tape.
