Portuguese term or phrase: ET
In a Brazilian marriage certificate between 2 foreigners, the term is used 4 times in 2 lines, and I see no instances of RNE/ET being a thing - doesn't appear on mine anywhere..

"portador da cédula de Identidade de Estrangeiro no. xxxxxxxx expedido por RNE/ET, natural de Estados Unidos da America/ET
e ela.... portadora de Identidade de Estrangeiro no. xxxxxxxx expedido por RNE/ET, natural de Guatemala/ET"

Asker: why would it be after the country of birth as well?

Asker: Thanks for the suggestion Clauwolf, It is a possibility I had not thought of.. and the clerks and registrars do sometimes sneak their initials onto documents sometimes, which often confuse me for a while, but I am not sure here

Jack, I believe the "T" in "ET" is "Trabalho". When a foreign person is authorized to live in Brazil, they receive a RNE, but when they are only allowed to work in Brazil for a certain period, they receive a Temporary Work Permit, whoci could be an Autorização de Trabalho (AT). So I'm supposing "ET" could be something similar or a typo.

Asker: Thanks Mario, good suggestion, I like Expatriate, I hadn't thought of that one, my brain was stuck on extra-terrestrial and Estrangeiro. But I don't see any actuall use of ET to stand for expatriado anywhere, so I am not convinced.
