Portuguese term or phrase: estando de boa-fé
Hi, I'm looking for the best way to express "estando de boa-fé" in natural sounding English since a direct translation sounds rather odd. This appears at the end of the following sentence which is part of an authorization consent for for bank customers.

agree  Mario Freitas: Good faith or bona fide. Not goodwill.

estando o Banco de boa-fé
should the Bank's error be a bona fide one

Explanation:
I'm unsure how a bank, rather than its clerks, can 'act' in good faith, but - as mentioned - the present participle or gerundive of estando needs (to) be reflected (if, where or PROVIDED ALWAY THAT - note agan all caps in lawspeak) after ... que possam resultar de tais equívocos, erros, instruções não autorizadas : such as may result from such mistakes (Collins) error or unathoris/zed instructions...

Example sentence(s):
  • What Is a *Bona Fide Error? A bona fide error is an unintentional mistake or oversight that may be corrected promptly to avoid exposure to legal action. Bona fide is a legal term that is often inserted in documents to indicate that any errors it contains

Explanation:
Let's face it, where have banks ever been in good faith towards their clients?

I would personally cut the phrase as financial white washing

acting in good faith

Explanation:
The position of these terms in the text requires some alteration to make work. The idea that is being conveyed is that all of the listed cases are not the responsibilities of the bank, assuming that the bank is acting in good faith.

In this specific context, the target should be:

with the bank acting in good faith
