did not pass Explanation: Here's an explanation of 'titolo di ammissione': The 'promozione ' is the 'titolo di ammissione'. 'Promozione' means you have passed your 5th and last year at school (they are tested through the year and the average mark given at the end determines whether they pass or not). By passing your 5th year (promozione) you are qualified (titolo di ammissione) to sit the 'esami di stato ' which you have to take to be awarded your high school diploma.
