On some Indonesian marriage certificates the date in the Gregorian system is followed by the letters "M/AC".

This seems to be analogous to the abbreviation "H" for Hijriah
Example: "14 R. Akhir 1432 H"

Hence I suppose that the "M" stands for either "Masehi" or "Miladiah"/"Miladiyah". (If that's right, should one be preferred over the other?)

Asker: Ah! Sounds like a good guess for the "AC" portion of the abbreviation. I couldn't get "Anno Domini" to fit ...and now I can see why it might have been modified. Let's see if there are any other contenders.

Asker: I've found a list of (nominally) 'Indonesian' abbreviations that includes "AC" as Anno Christi ...but also as Ante Christum (how perplex!). 'Kamus Singkatan Indonesia' by Parsidi et al. https://www.scribd.com/document/149714018/338017259
