According to a 2005 study by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, PECI and the Energy Systems Laboratory at Texas A&M University, median payback for retro-commissioning was 8.5 months.

The growth interest in recommissioning stems from a study by Portland Energy Conservation, Inc. (PECI) completed decades ago, suggesting that the benefits of new construction commissioning do not always persist.

While not common at the time the PECI study was completed, this can best be done through an MBCx process using automated FDD platforms.

I wonder if PECI is the same in the three sentences, because it doesn't make a lot of sense to that one would write the whole name and the initials between brackets the second time the term appears in the text, instead of the first time and then just the initials.

I have translated both laboratories and Texas University into Spanish. So I think the most coherent would be to do the same with PECI and put the initials inside the brackets, but I haven't found any translation.

I agree that since you chose to translate the other organization names, it would follow that you should translate this name as well. However, I found a forum in WordReference.com (see web reference below) that discusses the translation of proper nouns. It seems that the correct approach is not to translate proper nouns, unless it's a world renown organization such as the UN or FBI. Also, doing a search for Inc. in Linguee.com shows that many of the translation examples keep the English name. However, the WordReference.com forum also says that you could leave the term in English and then add an approximate Spanish translation next to it in parenthesis. Should you choose this approach my recommendation would be: Conservación de Energía de Portland, S.A.
