Hi all, I am working on a project regarding renal denervation. There is a mention of "late arriving nerves" in distal branches.
For the life of me, I can't find medical info in Portuguese that mention these nerves.
Is there an established translation in PT-PT?

"Late and very late arriving nerves (LAN/VLAN) were defined as those nerves running tangentially and joining the renal arteries distal to the MRA bifurcation or at the segmental branches, respectively."

I don't think you'll find a perfectly equivalent term for this, however, based on the context you provided, "late" has a space/place connotation (see below). Therefore, my suggestion is "nervos que se inserem posteriormente/tardiamente nos ramos distais" which convey that the nerves are joining the branch at a more distal position.

"Late and very late renal arriving nerves. Anteroposterior view (superior image) and caudo view (bottom image). Not all kidneys innervation passes via the main renal artery (MRA). Some nerves bypass the MRA and join distally to the different MRA’s divisions. These were defined as late arriving nerves if they joined the artery at the level of the main bifurcation and specifically very late arriving nerves (red asterisk) if the nerves joined beyond the anterior or posterior division."

Note: my opinion is in pt-BR, but I don't think that will be a problem in this particular case.
