The CFL Pre crushing unit is a small crush and sieve device which removes the e-base/socket from CFLs before further treatment in the CCS unit.
The CFL pre crushing unit will be integrated with the CCS as a separate feeding point.
CFLs are fed using a manual bin turning device for 140L wheelie-bins.
Discharged e-base material will be collected in a 140L wheelie-bin.

1. Separation of e-base (bulb base containing plastic and electronic components) into recyclable components.
2. Reduction of mercury in “clean fractions” from 5-10 ppm down to 1-2 ppm.
3. Reduction of mercury in fluorescent powder from 2000 ppm down to 1-2 ppm.
