Working with Excel Filters (xml File) Thread poster: Max Hezel

Hi everyone,
I would like to use Wordfast Pro to translate an Excel file, where the source language (English) is in Column A and the target language (e.g. Spanish) should be written to Column B.
I saw in the Wordfast Wiki that this can be done using an XML configuration file, but I'm having trouble setting it up correctly.
Has anyone here successfully done this and would be willing to share their XML configuration or explain how to set it up?

The process in Wordfast Pro is quite involved. It used to be straightforward in Wordfast Pro 3, and they were the first to have this feature, long before memoQ and Trados. No idea why they made it so hard to use in later versions of Wordfast Pro.

Thank you very much for your message.
Is there any documentation or a step-by-step guide for doing this in Wordfast Pro?
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find anything clear so far.

Yes I found the wiki page with the instruction. But the xml-Code does not work As i want it.
Do you see the fault? (Deleted ">" to copy code)

Change A and B to 0 and 1 | May 20 |
Well, it says the first column is 0 and you have entered “A” instead.
Result is the same | May 21 |
Yes, this was a test on my side. Also when I take "0" and "1" the result is the same.
I also wait for support from Wordfast team.
What did they say? | May 22 |
What did Wordfast say? Did you contact the hotline?
|
|
I just wrote an email to them. I do not have any hotline number.
But since one week no answer.
Not a real line, not really hot | May 24 |
Their 'hotline' is just a contact form on their website. And since it takes them more than one week to reply, I guess it's not very 'hot', either.
