Error on ProZ training login pages – how access courses?

I recently upgraded my membership to "Plus" to get free access to the training course library. I can open course pages and click on "Start Course," but then the trouble starts. I am forwarded to a login page where I can click on a button to use my ProZ login data to get access (see the attached screenshot). But then ... nothing. The same page reloads, and I am stuck and unable to start any course.

Same issue here, with Premium account May 2

Good morning,

I'm having the same issue. I got the Premium membership, but not able to access to the trainings (par example the Certified MT posteditor training). Also, I paid 20 USD for creating my website, but I didn't receive any email and no one contacted me.

For now, I'm member since 1 week ago and I don't see any benefits.

Your help would be very appreciated.

Hi Noemi,

I'm sorry to hear that you have the same issue. I wrote to the ProZ support 11 days ago, but haven't received any reply that might help solve the problem. I only know that most people can access the training courses.

Do you get the same error message as in the screenshot below? Or does the page just reload when you click on the login button?

Have you tried different browsers and/or incognito mode? What else have you tried to fix this?

I thought it might be a browser issue on my end, but it does not work in any browser with any settings. I tried Chrome, Firefox, and Edge with and without an ad blocker and in incognito mode. The same error occurs every time. I also tried clearing the browser cache, logging out and in again, and using a different internet connection. Nothing made a difference.

The fact that other people can access courses suggests that the problem is on my end. However, the error message points to an OAuth error, which would be on ProZ's side. I do not know if they have investigated this.

I upgraded my membership to access the training courses, too. Same result here so far.

I will let you know if and when I hear from support or find a solution myself. Please do the same. Thank you!

A little late to tell you this, but the Proz paying membership has become a trap, imo. This website seems to be heavily understaffed (at least compared to some years ago) and I suspect the same goes for the "development team". They are always claiming to be very busy resolving issues, but if that's the case they apparently hardly know what they are doing, since issues remain often unsolved and vague promises are rarely kept.

Exactly the same issue May 3

Hi Thorsten,

I have exactly the same issue. I did the same than you did, I tried using several browsers, incognito page and remove ad blocker, but still the same results: error message or reloaded page still asking to log in, while I'm still logged in. It is so frustrating.

Hope they will take an action soon.

I will keep you posted too.

I opened a ticket more than two (2) weeks ago, and the only response I've received from the ProZ support has been "the devs are working on this".

I am very disappointed by how ProZ is handling this issue. If my "devs" weren't able to offer at least an idea of a solution within 2 weeks, I would look for new developers. I even sent them the error message that the ProZ training site is producing and suggested possible ways to fix the issue, bu

Helen made a part of one of the training courses I wanted to attend available via a direct link. That was very nice, but only 2 out of 10 modules are accessible. And I did not receive an answer about how to take the exams and get the certification for that course.

In conclusion, this is really bad customer service. My impression is that there are a few people at the forefront of the ProZ support who have to tell members that they're working on things, while in reality, nothing is done.

Try to get a refund May 6

Unfortunately, Proz has deteriorated significantly in recent years. I am uncertain as to what staff/developers are occupied with - there is no response to questions or comments, or they consistently provide the same excuse: “We are working on a new website, and it will be fantastic!” However, it never arrives. If I were in your position, I would definitely not rely on this platform and request a refund (although it is uncertain whether you will receive a response).

Everybody experiencing this issue: Log in to your ProZ account and open https://www.proz.com/translator-training. It should work now.

I was told to first go to https://www.proz.com/translator-training/my-courses, where I can see all of my training courses ever attended, but the overview page works as well.

When you start a new course, you will be forwarded to the page that previously produced the error. However, the login problem has been solved, and the page should now correctly forward you to the training you wish to attend.
