Permanence Grant Program

The student permanence grant program generally provides financial resources to help with the expenses with housing, meals and transportation for students in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability.

it is a financial aid that aims to minimize social, ethnic-racial inequalities and contribute to the permanence and qualification of undergraduate students in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability, especially indigenous and quilombolas, enrolled in on-site courses offered.

The monthly income of each member of the family group, including the student, GENERALLY cannot exceed the value of a minimum wage and a half. Therefore, it is necessary to deliver specific documentation, socioeconomic analysis of income proof and social interview.

Note from asker:
Thanks for the help. I realise ths is what the university itself used on their website, but it doesn't sound correct in English so I've gone with the other answer.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Donna Sandin : the word "permanence" cannot be used in English in this context. I have not thought of the right term yet, I'm glad to know what the term means in Portuguese. Candidates are given assistance with living expenses. Someone will respond soon I hope.

disagree Ligia Regueira : The explanation of the term is correct, but the use of the word "permanence" is not, as mentioned above. I would maybe suggest "Continuation Grant Program".
