Hi, I just posted a response to a thread and received the following notification: "Your message has been stored in the database. However, AFAIK, only postings from non-verified members are being reviewed. I was just wondering why my postings suddenly have to be vetted. I participated in a couple of threads last week and all of my postings appeared immediately without approval. Just wondering, Sonja

Please don't be worried, it could be just a system glitch due to some works done at the site by the programmers. | | | Steffen Walter Germany Local time: 03:26 Member (2002) English to German + ... Agree with Natalie + support request | Jan 31, 2005 |
Hi Sonja, I agree with Natalie that this might just be due to some system glitch or maintenance (as you surely know, Platinum members' postings should be exempt from vetting and appear immediately). To be on the safe side, I'd recommend to go to http://www.proz.com/support and submit a support request. Another reason for your posting waiting for vetting might be that the ProZ.com sys... Another reason for your posting waiting for vetting might be that the ProZ.com system might have automatically grouped it under "advertising" because of the links given. I don't see that problem here, though. Steffen P.S. I've just vetted your posting. ▲ Collapse | | | Sonja Tomaskovic (X) Germany Local time: 03:26 English to German + ... TOPIC STARTER
I've been contacted by a moderator who resolved the issue. Thanks to all who answered. Sonja | |

Same problem here today (Nov 16) | Nov 16, 2005 |
I just posted a message on one of the Hungarian forums and got this: "Your message has been stored in the database. Note: Your message will be reviewed by a moderator before it is made visible." I am Platinum and have VID, and my postings always appear immediately. Can anyone fix it if it is a system problem? Thanks Katalin Hi Katalin, Platinum and VIDed members messages can also be subject to vetting if they include references to competing sites, for example. Your message does, so it's up to the moderator to decide. HTH Magda | | | With all due respect, I disagree | Nov 16, 2005 |

Thanks Katalin Hi Katalin, Platinum and VIDed members messages can also be subject to vetting if they include references to competing sites, for example. Your message does, so it's up to the moderator to decide. HTH Magda Magda, I just received a note from the moderator saying that he was instructed to remove any postings that contain a reference to the competing [...name removed...] site. I am not questioning his action, as he followed ProZ policy, I am questioning the policy itself. First of all, the reference was to a very informative article, discussing VAT issues specifically from the freelance translator's point if view. So, it was not that I referred to a job posting, or any info on an outsourcer, it was simply an article on a topic that we have been discussing for a long time, over and over again. I don't understand this policy at all, and I found it very disturbing that ProZ applies such censorship. It is not because my posting was removed, but because this policy exists at all. I have been very-very satisfied with ProZ, the services, the community and I agree to all policies regarding KudoZ and Forum postings, but not this one. This is the first time I am really upset with ProZ, and I would like to get some more explanation about this policy.
