With 10 years' experience as a chartered accountant, rising to the level of FD firstly of a dot.com and then the German branch of one of the largest global insurance companies, I am fully conversant with text types and terminology in the areas of general business, management and commerce, tax, finance, law (court documents, contracts, legislation and legal analysis) audit and accounting, and insurance.

As a translator I specialise in these areas but also have considerable experience with medical/pharmaceuticals texts.

I translate approximately 1,000,000 words per year.

I have an MA in technical & specialised translation (distinction) from the University of Westminster in London (Russian, German, Polish and Dutch) and a first class degree (BA Hons) in Russian and Swedish from UCL (University of London).

I teach technical and specialised translation into English from Slavic and Germanic languages at the University of Westminster (London) and supervise MA students in their dissertations, projects, theses, and similar.

I also provide tuition for students aiming to take Institute of Linguists examinations.

I am registered as a chartered accountant in England (ACA with the ICAEW).
