This excerpt is from the book I'm translating:
KwK/36 (368 т.м.).
"т.м." may be a typo for "т·м." This is from the Wikipedia article on the KV-85 Soviet heavy tank:
Мощность пушки equivalent to дульная энергия and measured in terms of "т·м"? But I can't imagine what the units are. Muzzle energy is usually measured in terms of foot-pounds.

tpm or t*m (tonnes per meter)
Hi James,
Energy (and work) is measured in Joules, which is N*m (Newton per meter).
As these units are small for artillery gun, instead of Newtons they use tonnes, having in mind that a tonne is not a unit of weight here, but a unit of force (F=mg).
So, this should have been "тм" or т"dot"м, but a mid-height dot is not a general symbol). So, someone who was not quite understanding, made his/her own corrections and it became "т.м" - > "т.м." which was a "human factor" ))

Discussion
As for the difference "т.м" vs "т·м", there are some notes in national standard ГОСТ 8.417-81 ГСИ.

I think that the phrase "допускается точку не поднимать" means that one can use "." instead of "·" (for typewritten texts). Actually, I think someone just didn't bother to use Alt-codes to enter the correct symbols, that's why "т.м." appeared. Perhaps the author does not know the following requirement of the same ГОСТ 8.417:
1 ton-force per meter = 1000 kgf·m, that's why I posted the link to Wikipedia.
