: I have never eaten or seen anything "house-made" in my almost 25 years in NYC. That some eatery somewhere calls it that doesn't mean much. It's marketing.

and why just eatery? There are a lot of articles in on-line magasizes which use "house-made"? for exampe, house-made potato chips:)
