I'm pretty sure about "salt dust" ("salt-dust"), not as sure about "transfer(s)", but you can check out a lot of translation examples related to the Aral Sea, if you search "salt dust transfer." I think using "transfer" does allow it to refer to the areas from which the salt is raised up into the air.
