ich dachte erst, es handelt sich um einen Fachbegriff aus der Kosmetik, konnte aber bei der Recherche keine Bestätigung dafür finden. Daher nehme ich an, dass Deine Vermutung richtig ist und es sich einfach um eine Haarsträhne handelt. Bin mir aber nicht sicher.

Little more than a blind guess, I'm afraid, but it might be what they are describing...particularly in association with the temples.
The point which appears when the hair recedes from either side of the forehead, leaving a pronounced "point" of hair in line with the nose.
