buzz-jack

English to Turkish Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
I can't help but feel that I've been somewhat buzz-jacked by Sir Elton. I think we'll have a Dante's Peak/Volcano or Armegeddon/Deep Impact situation - two surprisingly similar movies released - and may the best movie win

popüleritesini çalma

This is a hard one. Here is the main idea behind the term buzz-jacked:

Buzz is used to define events that get the public excited. In the interview you are translating, the reporter is talking about the simultaneous premiere of two different movies, one named Pride and Prejudice with Zombies written by Seth Grahame-Smith, the interviewee, himself, and the other one named Pride and Predator being filmed by Elton John's film company Rocket Pictures.
Seth Grahame-Smith is saying that the publicity he received because of his new movie was stolen (just like in the phrase "car-jacked") by Elton John's new movie. According to him, Sir Elton literally stole his buzz.

The phrase popüleritesini çalma can be used to give a close meaning.
