: According to Webster's, 'tenure' refers to the period of HOLDING sth, e.g. land, position whereas 'tenor' is mainly used in the banking industry, e.g. for bonds, etc.

: it has the same meaning but in legal connotation, we normally used 'tenure' instead of period
