English term

"we will not forget"

English to Hebrew Other
This is for a high school project. We are making a poster of what the holocaust means to us and we would like to use this phrase.

Proposed translations

22 mins

Lo Nishcach -or- Le Olam Lo Nishcach

The first phrase simply means, "We will not forget." The second carries a stronger meaning, best translated into English as, "We will never forget." If you need Hebrew letters, please send a request to me and I will spell the phrases using Hebrew alphabetical order as a guide; I can't type Hebrew in this screen.

Le'olam lo nishkakh

I appreciate that you may well want to display this in Hebrew characters!
However, assuming you will be using Latin characters, the above seems to me the correct transliteration. No need for extensive caps (use sentence case). Use an apostrophe to separate the preposition "le". Use ' kh' for the Hebrew letter khet, as I did in the Berlitz phrasebooks.
Good luck - or be'hatzlakha!
