Bosnian term

bježi

Bosnian to English Medical Medical (general) Medical Report
Context is medical report on broken finger.

The term is used in quotes, in the following sentence:

u eztenziji prst lagano "bježi" u abdukciju

Obviously, this can't be "flees"...

Maybe, the finger weakly pulls upon abduction??

Thanks for the help!

Thanks Eric. I was glad to be instrumental in arriving at the right term. I wish VPUHING had posted "drifts" as her own answer so she could get the points for this. At least, her solution has been immortalized as a glossary entry!

extension of the finger results in its gradual abduction

I'm out of my depth here, but this might mean that when the finger is extended ("u eztenziji"?), it slowly moves away from the center line of the hand (which is what abduction is, according to Wikipedia). This would be an involuntary movement. The finger does this by itself. Hence "bježi".
