elected representative course
My dictionary ( Kunnskapsforlaget)gives "representative, spokesman, employee representative" (particularly for a factory) and union official for a trade union.
The following is from here: https://www.worker-participation.eu/National-Industrial-Rela...
"In practice, Norwegian union put substantial resources into training union representatives. Norway’s largest individual union, Fagforbundet, states on its website that “all our shop stewards must have training, and about 8,000 shop stewards participate each year. The union's union election training is free, and includes travel, accommodation and course materials. The trade union is responsible for training its own shop stewards"
co-opted member's training
This is a two-day workshop for HEU members looking to become shop stewards at their work site. Members who are actively stewarding at their work site should apply for Level 2 Steward Training.
hank you for taking the time to consider applying to become a co-opted member of Council for the. Healthcare Infection Society (HIS).

: Co-opted is generally used in the exact opposite way to the election of a union/employee representative
