Considerato che la dilatazione degli spazi subaracnoidei è (anche) segno di atrofia cerebrale, una traduzione "brutale" potrebbe essere "the brain has regular shape and dimensions". Ma, come detto, sarebbe troppo semplicistico (e probabilmente errata).
Secondo la mia interpretazione lo spazio subaracnoideo della volta è da considerare l' "intracranial subarachnoid space" mentre lo spazio subaracnoideo della base è lo "spinal subarachnoid space". Pertanto una possibile traduzione potrebbe essere:
" the intracranial and spinal subarachnoid spaces are within the norm"
