You, Heather, are welcome. There are plenty more Portuguese anecdotes where these ones came from....
Dual employment occurs when an indeterminate (permanent) employee on an extended period of leave without pay ( LWOP ) accepts another position for a specified period in the same or different department.
INSS usa só uma das contribuições para fazer o cálculo e a outra é desconsiderada. Isto é, se durante um certo tempo eu paguei o INSS em duplicidade para dois códigos, o INSS irá considerar apenas um deles, ou geralmente o que for maior.
I like that, thank you Adrian |
Thanks that is perfect, just concise enough to fit nicely into the document. |

Obrigado and thanks, Phil. My youngest 'English' brother once managed to write a whole jarring, but proofread book without any hyphenated words.

Duplicate Period (em duplicidade) // Term of effectiveness of the duplicate period (de duplicidade)
Period holding two (or more) jobs
This would be a period holding two or more jobs, which is quite common ... Possibly with contributions being paid into state and private pension schemes.
I use a spreadsheet to keep track of my 401k contributions from two jobs.
According to the rules, you can pile in contributions from two jobs and thus receive the benefit of contributions from two employers.
Thanks for confirming my guess, but Phil is correct, I need something a bit more concise for the document if possible :) |

: This is an explanation rather than a translation - we need a short and snappy term. You're basically saying "a period holding two or more jobs is a period holding two or more jobs".

What do you suggest then?
