There are several types of appeal in Brazilian/Portuguese procedural law of which an agravo is just one. An agravo is an interlocutory appeal, i.e. an appeal against an order made prior the final judgment in the proceedings.
Accordingly an agravo is "(...) o recurso interposto contra decisão interlocutória.".
