French term

ND

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Financial Statement
Hello all,
I'm a translating a financial statement, not sure about the meaning of ND the following. I wondered about non disponible, but they are all followed by figures.
Prov. pour Indemnité départ en retraite (ND)
Provision risques litiges fiscal (ND)
Provision Litige commerçiaux Sedan (ND)
Thanks for any help!

Thanks Julie. Am going to, in fact I have quite a list!
Julie Barber Oct 12, 2020:
I'd ask. I just flicked through some accounts online and there are all manner of "non + whatever". Non désignés, non dérivés, non deductible....perhaps non disponible as per your suggestion but would be hard to say
Anne Greaves (asker) Oct 12, 2020:
Hi AllegroTrans no nothing useful that I can see
AllegroTrans Oct 12, 2020:
An acronym... Referring perhaps to a branch or department of the company? Any clues in the rest of the document?
SafeTex Oct 11, 2020:
@ Anne "Non disponible" in French meaning "non-disposable" funds in English as all of the funds are provisions. Not saying this is right but your suggestion makes more sense to me than "not declared"
Anne Greaves (asker) Oct 11, 2020:
Hi Safetex, do you mean non disponible ou non diffusable?
SafeTex Oct 10, 2020:
Non disposable Hello
Of all the suggestions so far, formal or in the discussion, only "non disposable" looks reasonable to me.
Anne Greaves (asker) Oct 10, 2020:
Thanks for both suggestions. Think I am going to have to ask the client!
Suzie Withers Oct 10, 2020:
non diffusable I found this in a list of finance acronyms and abbreviations - does it mean the figures are not for public release (yet)? Just a guess.

Not my area, but from https://longin.fr//Cours/Jour_Tresorerie/reserve/Partie_01/D... which has 'NDMLT: Nouvelles Dettes à Moyen Long Terme' maybe ND = 'nouvelles dettes'?

Not Declared

First thing that immediately came to mind.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Carol Gullidge : I think you need to provide some explanation (as required) for the FRENCH source term in question. //I think your CR is very fair but still feel an explanation was needed :))

Non declaree, non disponible, not enough context to be certain hence confidence 3
neutral AllegroTrans : Can't see howe this would be against these particular items in a set of accounts somehow

I did say it was first thing that came to mind, and quite happy if someone has in-depth knowledge of French abbreviations.
Something went wrong...
