Discussion

Daryo Jun 8, 2018:
this text itself maybe not be directly part of the GDPR directive, but the terms used should be the same as the one used in the regulation. The debate leading to this directive in the European parliament was public, and the public records of the debate are another source of terms - and also of explanations for the logic of the GDPR. This period of "XYZ years since the last/final interaction" is such a fundamental element of the GDPR that it must be mentioned somewhere in some official document.
Philippe Noth May 28, 2018:
Pas de suggestion car... ... je ne suis pas spécialiste de ce genre de textes contractuels ou légaux. Les propositions de Renvi et Claude correspondent au sens que je donne à cette phrase.
Marilyn D. (asker) May 28, 2018:
Une suggestion Philippe ? :)
Marilyn D. (asker) May 28, 2018:
@ Daryo
The text is not part of The General Data Protection Regulation. I have already searched for it, thank you.
Philippe Noth May 28, 2018:
I don't think this sentence comes from the official GDPR texts, at least not in this form. I searched for it, hoping to find an easy, ready to offer, translation :)

Rather it can be found on https://www.boyden.com/privacy-policy/index.html : an interpretation of GDPR by the Boyden company.
Daryo May 28, 2018:
@ Marilyn D. reinventing the wheel?

There are publicly available official/authoritative translations of the The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 in all official languages of the EU - (triple checked before publication); simply looking into the repository of EU legislation would be possibly more reliable than wild guesses?

Merci Renvi, j'opte pour cette réponse. Je pense que l'expression "au terme de" aurait également pu convenir. Merci !

Why am I not surprised?
agree Philippe Noth : D'accord avec ça. D'autant plus que cette phrase n'est pas DANS le GDPR mais dans une interprétation faite par une entreprise

neutral Renvi Ulrich : Que dire d'un engagement pour 25 ans finalisé puis signé? Sera-t-il supprimé aprè sept ans?

neutral Daryo : could make sense, only thing is - in this case you MUST use the terms from the officially published texts.
