German term

Überwachungsstation (ÜS) - Control and Monitoring Stations?

German to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Systems, Networks control and monitoring
part of a request for quotation -

LV-Visualisierung

Part of a configuration description for Überwachungsstationen (monitoring stations?). - This is not in a medical, but in an industrial context. I did see the medical context of "central monitoring station". Would this be appropriate for Überwachungsstation (ÜS) in an industrial sense as well? and what would be the abbreviation then (ÜS = CMS)?
The text describes the design and equipment of these stations, monitors, programs, etc.

Do you think "Control and monitoring system" = CMS would be correct here?
Beispiel:
Die Aufstellorte der Überwachungsstationen (ÜS) sind in den jeweiligen Grundrissplänen des Gewerks Starkstrom eingetragen

Thank you for your help!

Discussion

Susanna Miles (asker) Jan 16, 2018:
the "Stationen" are central and some are not central, so this would fit. The abbreviation is used throughout the tender document, and also on the floor plans.
philgoddard Jan 15, 2018:
Susanna There's no need to abbreviate it unless it keeps coming up in the text. And I wouldn't add "control".

monitoring station

Die Überwachungsstationen sind hier nicht zentral, sondern dezentral angeordnet.

Yes, and I entered a very relI able reference from IATE. BTW: Used for other industrial domaines, too.I know the term since 1980 as approval engineer and since 1992 as side-job translator as well.
agree philgoddard : This seems perfectly straightforward, though I would have put 4 so it doesn't sound like there's only one possible answer.

Thank you!

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you Herr Gleim, and others as well - I will use the abbreviation (MS) with prior explanation. "auch wenn viele Panels beide Funktionen beherrschen" was helpful. - The text actually had some CMS further down in the job. "
