Czech term
kašírování
Czech to English
Tech/Engineering
Paper / Paper Manufacturing

coating
Coating or lamination depending on the context and method. With the application of aluminum, I would use coating.

functional coating / barrier coating
"Functional coating" is the most general term and does not depend on the material being used, but rather the type of protection it is providing (see link to Dreamworks Coating below).
If the material being used is important, the common terms are aluminium lining (kašírování s hliníkem), plastic coating, and barrier coating if the kašírování is meant to provide protection to the paper layers against liquid etc. (see http://www.cattieadhesives.com/products/barrier-coatings).
Functional & barrier coating are different from mere "coating", which just finishes the surface of the paper (kridovy papir).
