French term
reprise du rx
French to English
Medical
Medical (general)
hospitalisation summary/ clinical trial data
Can anybody help with "rx" in the following sentence please?:
"Le patient doit contacter inf. de l'étude pour reprise du rx"
It appears in a hospitalisation summary sheet for a patient with nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, haematuria, metabolic acidosis and hyperkalaemia. Medications include Meropenem, Levaquin and Levophed.
I have 2 possibilities in mind - 1) "resumption of treatment" or 2) "recovery of health costs". Are either of those right or is it something else entirely?!

prescription
Standard abbreviation in pahrmacy, there's even a special typographic symbol for it.
This ought to be in the glossary already.

To answer the second part of your question, it certainly isn't about "recovering health costs" — depending on the precise context, it might mean 'resuming the medication previously prescribed', or possibly 'to obtain a copy of the prescription'.
Of course,, Rx can refer to the prescription itself, or to the actual medication that was prescribed on it.
