MDDI (possibly "marque de distributeur + I?)

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) brand names/marketing
Hi, can anyone help with the acronym MDDI please?

It occurs in my text close to MDD which I know means marque de distributeur, so I'm making an assumption that the first 3 words of MDDI are the same. So does anyone know what the I stands for and how the acronym translates into English please?

The text concerns a supermarket's marketing strategy, surrounding text is as follows:

Our aim is o surprise our customers with low prices for all our stock and our lowest prices for the “..." product range, with special offers (not only for food-stuffs but also a wide range of non-food goods, seasonal sales promotions and MDDI goods).

Indépendant/Intermarché Just to confuse the issue, of course, Intermarché is a chain of independent supermarkets i.e. a franchise

@ Emma That's exactly what I said. So if it is marques de distributeur Intermarché, I guess that would work, but if it was singular, implying that there was indeed a specific 'Intermarché' brand, it might not work so well.

Di for Distributeur It may well be just Di for Distributeur. In answer to Tony, Intermarché most certainly does have own brands, they're just not called Intemarché, as you say - but they are MDD nevertheless. They even advertise their brands nationally, even though they're only available in their own supermarkets.

@ Clompy Certainly a good idea, but the only thing that worries me is that Intermarché don't actually HAVE their own brand — they use several different brands, none of which is actually 'Intermarché' as such; however, perhaps it could be 'all the various Intermarché brands'?
However, what also sort of concerns me is the fact that Intermarché's own-brand stuff will include some of the aforementioned food-stuffs and non-food goods, so the 'not only... but also...' somehow seems a little misplaced.

response for Asker/Clompy... Hi and thanks for your comment. I would normally do this but the original is in Russian. I suspect that the document has been translated from French into Russian, and MDDI has just been put in there by someone who didn't know what MDDI was either...Clompy, think you might be right about Intermarche and it would make sense, given the provenance of the document. Intermarché? Just a thought, but maybe it's the name of the supermarket. See what options Google suggests when you type "marque de distributeur i"
