Si tratta di un racconto di Kipling "The Bridge-Builders" nela quale si narra la costruzione di un ponte sul Gance. Le stone-boats servono per il trasposto di blocchi di calcestruzzo. Se all'inizio avevo tradotto "treggia" l'ho poi sostituito con "zattera" perché a quanto pare sono vere e proprie imbarcazioni (e non slitte). Qua alcuni esempi dove compare il termine:

“There is always time for her; and none the less there has been delay. Has the Sahib forgotten last autumn’s flood, when the stone-boats were sunk without warning – or only a half-day’s warning?”

The concrete blocks on the fleet of stone-boats were dropped overside, where there was any depth of water, to guard the piers, and the empty boats themselves were poled under the bridge down-stream.

Qualche suggerimento sulla traduzione? Conoscete un termine più tecnico che possa tradurre il termine?
