Spanish term

p.

Spanish to English Social Sciences Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs diploma
This appears at the bottom of a diploma issued by PEER in Ecuador.

Presidente: X
Secretario: Y
p. Cuerpo Docente: [four illegible signatures]

I am not sure what "p." stands for.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Darius Saczuk (asker) Nov 10, 2012:
OK. I see your point.
Dariusz Imho there are 2 ways of seen it:
a) 4 professors sign FOR the faculty
or
b) just signed BY Tom, Dick, Harry and John

Darius Saczuk (asker) Nov 10, 2012:
Yes, of course it should be translated as "by" into English. I just did not know what it stood for in Spanish.
Richard Hill Nov 10, 2012:
That's true! Don't know why I missed that, probably just saw Antonio's "firmato por" explanation. Who knows :)
Helena Chavarria Nov 10, 2012:
If it meant 'por', surely that would be 'by' in English. 'Signed by' and not 'signed for'.

I think it could mean 'profesores'.
