See also this kudos question. I agree that "tentacles" is not necessarily appetising; also, these are often strips of the body itself rather than the actual tentacles, though this can be ascertained by asking the client if possible.

I think "strips" works much better than "slices", which to me describes a different kind of cut from a block, loaf, etc.

Éramos tres a comer de primero compartimos unas rabas de peludin, para el que no lo sepa "Calamares fritos" el peludin es un calamar mas grande, las rabas muy buenas y frescas.

Un truco para que queden bien blandas es congelar el peludín antes de prepararlo. Tradicionalmente las rabas son solo los tentáculos de los calamares, sin embargo suele freírse todo el bicho.
