I know that artículo translates as section (not article) in a statute - but is this a statute?

Phil - I didn't mean to imply that I needed to find an equivalent for the Labour Code in English -it is as you say a Spanish code, but I needed to know whether it was better to use article or section - if it was roughly equivalent to a statute - then I believe it should be section. In Quebec for example the code has amended sections - not articles: http://www2.publicationsduquebec.gouv.qc.ca/dynamicSearch/te...
- but I wasn't sure.

This is the Spanish employment or labour code, as used in Spain. You don't need to find a UK equivalent! (And besides, the UK doesn't have legal codes).

Thanks for the assistance so far. However, I am not sure about Labour Code (as transword says) because as far as I am aware it does't mean anything in the UK system. We don't have a Labour Code - we have Employment Law - but this is an Act. I don't think the Código del Trabajo in Spain was passed in the same way as an Act is passed in the UK. So I am still stuck for finding an equivalent in UK English
