English term

townie

Non-PRO English to German Other
The girl's a townie.

I know what a "townie" is, I just can't think of a really good German expression.

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Dec 15, 2001:
further explanation "Stdterin" is too positive. Here a townie is somebody who wears all these brand clothes and talks in a very slangy way. So it's gotta be a more negative expression.

FRATZ is a term for a sassy girl.

Why not! But I think "Stadt" already implies the fancier clothes etc.

Stadtmaul

Maybe this is too negative for your context, but this is what first came into my mind...

This is my very own brand name for a townie.

But Townie seems to be accepted in Germany.
See links "die Zeit"

My first answer disappeared, so here it is, with additional information.

Someone propose "Stadtpuppe", I rather like it.
