French term

retraité

French to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Stock market information note
Hi all, I´m pretty sure this refers to pensions but I came up with "redraft" as well which is confusing me. Thought it best to solicit a second opinion. Many TIA for clearing up my doubts...Jason.

Au regard du chiffre d’affaires relativement modeste réalisé au premier semestre et de la nécessité pour la banque de se doter des moyens nécessaires pour relancer la dynamique de croissance dans un environnement boursier devenu plus favorable (recrutement, accroissement des dépense de marketing et publicité), nous escomptons un résultat net de 36,2 M€ en 2005 en hausse de 8% seulement en retraité. L’évolution du mix produit ne permet pas d’anticiper une amélioration des marges sur la collecte et les encours gérés.

Restated for this impact which represents 7,4 million euros as of March 31, 2003, and after taking into account currency fluctuations, consolidated sales evolution after the first nine months of fiscal year 2002/2003, is +6,1 % compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year which had already recorded a strong growth of all activities.

Retraité de cet impact qui ressort au 31 mars 2003 à 7,4 millions d’euros, et après prise en compte des variations monétaires, l’évolution du chiffre d’affaires consolidé à l’issue des neuf premiers mois de l’exercice 2002/2003 est de + 6,1 % par rapport à la même période de l’exercice précédent, qui elle-même avait déjà enregistré une forte croissance de l’ensemble des activités.

Not for grading

retraité = restated

Se dit d'états financiers, d'un poste des états financiers ou d'une colonne de chiffres auxquels on a fait subir des modifications pour la correction d'erreurs (redressement), le rétablissement d'une situation d'équilibre (ajustement) ou l'adaptation à un autre mode de présentation (retraitement).

French term (edited): en retrait

lower than estimated/ in a setback

Hi, I think the "en" may be important here, judging by the context, so I've added it to the source term box.
I don't think it's related to pensions, but rather to the difficulties of attaining the hoped-for results.I have this impression because, translating roughly: * the first semester was modest, and the bank has to find means to benefit from the improving market environment*
"We anticipate net (earnings/income/gains/profit?) of ..., an increase of ONLY 8%, lower than expectations (in a setback)."
Again, the next sentence is also rather negative in tone.
Cf example sentences below, from Le ROBERT COLLINS DU MANAGEMENT COMMERCIAL FINANCIER ECONOMIQUE JURIDIQUE (1992, p. 393)
Peer comment(s):

disagree lenkl : :Not here, IMO. You're probably thinking of "en retrait", which has a different meaning
