Today I was searching the Freelancers Directory to find any colleagues using Deja Vu in my language pair. Ok, I can find them using the drop down menu "Translator productivity software". But, to my surprise, I saw two new features in Step 1 of the Directory Search:

Well, I use both Trados and Deja Vu, and I don't care much about the Trados certification. I may even consider sitting the exam one day, if translation offices require it. But I don't think there are so many translators in Proz.com who are Trados certified.
I don't know much about the US laws, it may be legal for Proz.com to favour a specific CAT tool (in this case, Trados), if there are not any anti-competition regulations applicable.
Anyway, the legal issues are not my concern but I prefer and suggest such certification not to be asked in Directory Search, or under a special tab may be, for the clients who search Trados users, and even further certified Trados users.

It seems, nobody is bothered by this, and I am a bit surprised. It just shows, that commercial acumen is more important to push your product than any other quality.
Let's hope there will be some reaction from other people as well, particularly from those who instigated and implemented it.
