Has anybody ever heard of TAXEDFIX with e-mail-address [email protected]?
Dave MacNeil would work for them as a manager, but gmail addresses are usually suspicious.

Why don't you ask them directly ([email protected])?

Legit companies always have email addresses with custom domains Sep 8, 2024

See above. A company's officer would never use a Gmail address or any other similar one (like Outlook, etc.).

I agree with you but some years ago, I was contacted by a client with a gmail address asking me if I was interested in working with them. The proposal seemed too good to be true, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt (there were no other red flags) and to my surprise the second contact was made through their custom domain. When I asked why they said that they prefer using a gmail address on the first contact in order not to be flooded with phone calls and email messages…

If it is a scam, the answer won't be honest.
But, indeed, [email protected] is not a google account. Thank you.

Interesting.
People might have various reasons to use a gmail account, the normal account being temporarily out of use being one of them. Lately, e.g., I was without a modem for two weeks.

I'm not sure I would bother even if it didn't come from a Gmail address! Take a look at the website http://taxedfix.com/

Googling that address (with the spelling corrected) leads to https://www.proz.com/forum/scams/353390-fraudulent_translation_company_scam_case.html

The pictures of their management team are quite clearly fake. Their social media links just lead to the homepages. Their copy is mostly nonsensical and appears on a host of other similar websites.

Stay away!
