Join Hannah Brown and International Institute of Buffalo for a four-hour mental health interpreter workshop on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (USA/Canada).


This course covers interpreting for patients in an in-patient mental health facility.


Hannah will be leading the training with education on topics that include, but are not limited to:

- The differences between out-patient and in-patent mental health

- What to expect when working in an in-patient setting

- The interpreter's role, boundaries, and how to not impede treatment

- Safety protocol

- Terminology, vocabulary


This training is designed for interpreters who currently work in an in-patient setting or who are curious about getting started in such an environment. The goal of this training is to enhance your knowledge, understanding, and comfort level when working in an in-patient setting.


Please note that this training will be conducted in English and will focus exclusively on the Mental Health Counseling and Psychiatry industry in the United States of America. Terms, practices, attitudes, and beliefs may be very different where you live and should only be applied when interpreting for American clients.
