I am right now Dec 25, 2012

I have a big job due on Tuesday. If I'd been smart, I might have tried to finish it earlier.

Rubbish Christmas.. Dec 25, 2012

I once spent the whole holiday apart from half of Christmas Day translating a specification brochure for bin lorries - rather enjoyed it, actually!

Yes Dec 25, 2012

Although my calendar shows an unavailability, I'm still working. This is either as a translator/editor or as a writer. Our big holiday was December 21st, not being of the Christian faith.

Still, I want to wish all my fellow ProZians Happy and Safe Holidays!

Yes, always Dec 25, 2012

They are no other days than other days, just less people around.
I do not have a full day because I spend the time with my family, but as soon as they watch TV, I am agonner!
Life goes on ...

A good idea: double (triple) rates Dec 25, 2012

...for the holiday season to make it even more enjoyable (and flexible).

Especialy if the holiday season is so long now -- in fact, at least from St. Nicholas Day (19 December) to the Lunar New Year in February and Women's Day in March.

Happy Holidays and best wishes for the New Year!

Yes Dec 25, 2012

But preferably out of my own choosing and not through necessity.
Mind you, Xmas is just another normal day over here in Japan -- we celebrate the New Year.

Wishing you all good health and prosperity in 2013!

WORK, WORK AND MORE WORK Dec 25, 2012

I do work during the weekends and also the holidays and that does not exclude Christmas and New Year.

I am right here in front of my PC and I can't wait until someone shows up with an emergency project.

A Rubbish Christmas indeed!

I've got work over Christmas, which I'm glad of, but I did only accept the amount that I can fit in around the family while staying sane

Happy holidays to all of my fellow Prozians, and a good new year to us all!!

Filipa

I think the "no, never" ones... Dec 25, 2012

...are actually afk to feast/meet people and not online to check the according radio button, so I doubt this poll's outcome is representative

25th December, I am working right now Dec 25, 2012

I've got a project to deliver on Friday morning, so Yes, I am working now and will stop for Christmas lunch and then work a bit more after 6 or 7 p.m. And hey, I'm not complaining.

Bah, humbug! Dec 25, 2012

I 'ate Christmas, so yes I am working. I have already been called Scrooge twice today. I'd much rather take time off and see my family and friends at another time of year.

No "undo" button for poll answers Dec 25, 2012

I should have selected "Yes", but said "Sometimes, depends".

I had one holiday which encompassed Christmas and New Year in 1988/98, and another one in 1999/2000.

I have never worked on Christmas Day, but have worked on 1 January. Last year I worked right through the night on New Year's Eve on an urgent job for delivery 08:00 on 01.01.12. That was too extreme. I will not do that again.

I have a large job due on 03.01.2013, so I will probably work late this

I have a large job due on 03.01.2013, so I will probably work late this afternoon (Christmas Day) and tonight. Religious observations are important to me, and those are "fixed appointments"; all the rest is pretty much negotiable.

I consider all other days during "the holiday season" as working days, although should confess that the afternoon of 20th December was spent enjoying a luncheon with friends...

I am this year... Dec 25, 2012

Work was slow for a few weeks and I didn't mind accepting some jobs over the holidays. I had a large editing job due the 27, and a smallish translation with no real due date. Another client had a review for me to do but it's been delayed. I'm fine working through the holidays!
