Bio
I have a 1st class honors degree in French and German Language Technology from UMIST.
I trained as a Technical Translator at Alcatel in France and gained experience of translating technical installation guides and user guides for telecommunications engineers and end users.
I also worked from Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals in Germany gaining exposure to medical and pharmaceutical terminology.
I have also worked as a translator and web copy-editor for Laterooms.com assisting in the launch of their portals for the French and German speaking markets.
I have also worked on a multilingual helpdesk for IBM answering and resolving software queries from French and German speaking clients in the automotive industry and finally as a Marketing Assistant for Holiday Inns Worldwide in Germany.
Most recently I worked in the social housing sector and also for a software company in the construction industry.
At the moment I am working on a 450,000 word German -> English project comprising personal correspondence from the 1930s and 1940s.
