When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

However, turkicized form of the word, as "mirket" is suggested in one link (which doesn't bear any scientific authority, though)

SORRY, the last link (where \"mirket\" is suggested) should change as below:

Çöl faresi=B.neotomae (http://campus.fortunecity.com/mason/261/donem5/bruselloz/bru...
Meerkat=Suricata suricatta
(here is a cute picture of the animal: http://www.harunyahya.org/imani/munis_sanati/munissanati09.h...
So, although çöl faresi is not the correct taxonomical name, I think it would be your best choice with a reference to Timon of the Lion King, because yours is not a zoological question in the technical sense. (Reference to Timon is necessary as Murat says, because none of these animals are much known to the Turkish speaker.)

APOLOGIES
Taxonomical name of \"çöl faresi\" is Meriones crassus (http://www.geocities.com/mammalia_2000/Mercr.htm)
Çöl faresi
Here's food for laughter, meerkat literaly means "sea cat" (meerkatze in German) but it is not a cat and doesn't even live close to the sea and is translated into Turkish as "mouse" though it is none :))

: Çöl faresi değil --- Anladım. Buranın formatı sınırlı ne yazık ki ama. Öneri kısmında o laf sabit.... Mongoose için benim küçüklüğümün Hayat Hayvanlar Ansiklopedisi'nde "mongo" kullanılmıştı.

Tanya, I\'d suggest you to just send a picture of the animal to your friend. I think that would be much easier than trying to make up a Turkish common name (which doesn\'t exist yet) or to describe it. Meerkats and scenes from their life are often shown in TV documentaries. So, most people are familiar with their visual appearance.
