There MUST be more context... Actually Tony there is no more context. This is a report by a court-appointed investigator looking at all the things that may have gone wrong before the major failure on the boat. Thanks as always :-)

maybe they mean "acastillage" which are ship or deck fittings - google and you'll see that there are various parts involved that could pose problems in the event of bad weather

Yes, but... ...what are some of the other things on the list? I'm wondering if this might be something physical to watch out for, like an obst acle at sea ('dolphin', 'mole', etc.) — but would that fit with the other items on the list? Or is this some kind of GPS system that lets you find your nearest chandler? Could 'watch out for' be meant in that sense, instead of 'beware of'?

Thanks Tony for your input as always - There is no real context for this line, but the doc itself is about navigation software for weekend sailors that gives them a printout of the best rouite based on the weather (which the software consults in real time) and the boat's characteristics.

There MUST be more context... For a start, it would be really helpful to give some of the other items on the list, so we can see what sort of 'watch out for' this is talking about...
