French term
Brûleur à lit de gravier
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
From a document dealing with specifications for and fire performance testing of structural sandwich panels.
"Brûleur à lit de gravier" is the title of a diagram showing the set up of a test kiln. I have very little other context, but hope someone can help with the "official" name in English of this type of burner. Thanks!

I don't know if there is an oficial title for the type of kiln, as grab=vel beds seem to be used in many types, of which this is just one:
A McConnel burner firing recycled waste (wood trim, fines, and resinated sander dust) ... Figure 2-2 is a schematic of an ionizer and gravel bed assembly. ...

Another (I think) is a Whellon burner (needs checking!)
