For an email concerning a one shot aviation insecticide.

Is this some kind of valve release ?

I've put this in general because I really didn't know what other field I could put it in.
These emails are generally just trade information, I seldom need this nitty gritty information.

one shot spray

I found 'aérosol percutant' which may be another way of saying 'aérosol à percussion' and which appears to often be translated as 'one shot spray'.

agree David Goward : I suspect that the French bit in brackets in MJ's note is provided to inform French users what "one shot" means. Probably required by law!

thanks David!
agree philgoddard : Now that we have the full context, this is clearly the correct answer. One-shot with a hyphen.

Ta Phil. Yep, just saw Miranda's added comment. This must be it, with the hyphen.

Peer comment(s):

disagree philgoddard : You can't just ignore "à percussion", and it's nothing to do with crop dusting.

it has to do in general with aerial application. It's about aviation insecticide.I just gave an exemple of aerial application!!!
disagree B D Finch : The essential point of this question is "à percussion". I am sure Miranda knows what an aerosol is!

aerosol bomb

It's what the Federal Aviation Authority calls it; cf. this 'country specific travel information' regarding Lebanon:
"Jun 28, 2013 - Aircraft – All arriving aircraft must be disinfected while in flight, with aerosol bomb approximately thirty minutes before arrival at the airport."
