French term

frais communs UP

French to English Bus/Financial Management
This is in a table of contents for a management report on processes in a factory. It comes under the heading "Methods d'Affectation Des Couts" The phrase is written with no accent marks as:

"CLE DES FRAIS COMMUNS *UP*"

I'm wondering about the "UP", I'm thinking the U is probably for Usine but I'm not sure. If anyone can help, that would be great.

Daniel: your second piece of context answers the question. It's definitely unités de production, as mchd says.
mchd Dec 7, 2009:
UP means UNITE DE PRODUCTION.
Daniel Weston (asker) Dec 7, 2009:
...more some more context:
"la verticalisation des Usine en U.P. décentralisées"
Daniel Weston (asker) Dec 7, 2009:
some additional context Here are the other items in this section:
CLE FRAIS DE FABRICATION and
CLE FRAIS DE GENERUAX USINE

Phil, does this help at all?
Jack Dunwell Dec 7, 2009:
R/T se Proz Eng>FR Revenue tonne from "Unité Payante" possible.
philgoddard Dec 7, 2009:
I think there are so many possibilities that this would just be a guessing game.

production unit overhead cost allocator

Costs (fixed AND variable) to be shared are by definition 'overhead'.
UP = unité de production, at least chez EDF (see link).
