Pleadings of a defendant in a claim for misuse of company assets.

Ils ont ainsi accepté, à la demande du Magistrat-instructeur, de comparaître aux convocations adressées à leurs seuls conseils, afin d’éviter les délais procéduraux résultant de leur domiciliation à l’étranger.


The Defendants are American, and the claim relates to a French company's assets and is being brought in France. Does this mean that the summons were sent only to their legal advisers, based in France, and not to them abroad? Not being sure of the rules about to whom summons can be sent, I just wanted to check.
